The Sonshine Room
The Sonshine Room is a food and children's clothing pantry opened to help the community. We provide clothing for children, as well as baby clothing, diapers, wipes and some basic equipment. We also offer non-perishable food, paper products and hygiene items.
The Sonshine Room is normally open to the community on the last Tuesday of each month, from 1:30-3:00pm.
**Temporary Date Change**
In October, November & December, we will temporarily open on the 3rd Friday of the month from 1:30-3:00pm.
Will COVID-19 affect the Sonshine Room?
Because we foresee that the community need for our food pantry will be great, we plan to continue to open as usual on the last Tuesday of each month during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We will, however, change the way we do things in order to keep everyone safe and healthy – those we assist in the Sonshine Room, as well as our volunteers.
First of all, we are asking any of our usual volunteers who are over the age of 60 to remain at home and not help this month. Though we appreciate their usual hard work, we do not want to risk their exposure to the virus.
Secondly, we will be doing a curb-side only distribution of our normal boxes of food and supplies. We will ask folks to remain in their cars, and we’ll bring the boxes to them. We also won’t be filling out the normal registration forms for each family. This will allow us to limit our interaction, as well as keep as much of a physical distance as possible.
